“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this award for this cause which is so close to my heart. The issue of domestic violence is all too common, as a person who previously was violent to women now over 20 yrs ago, I view this work as my way of dedicating myself to the solution instead of contributing to the problem. As a Father it is my job to ensure that my daughter is never impacted by the overwhelming statistics but it is not enough to only want my daughter to be free of the violence against women, but for all women to be free of it, everyone’s mother, sister, aunt, daughter everywhere. Women are to be protected and respected and the degree of civilization in a society can be judged by the state of its women.”
