A man was shot to death late Saturday night in Roslindale, marking the 36th homicide of the year in Boston, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers responded to 80 Archdale Rd. around 11:48 p.m. and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, Officer Nicole Grant said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the victim’s name.
The shooting brought to an end a violent day that left eight people shot in four separate incidents.
Universal Hub noted last December, a man was fatally shot in the head at 20 Archdale Rd., followed the next month by a woman being shot to death a couple blocks away on Fawndale Rd. In April, cars were shot up at 80 Archdale.

This makes the total number of shootings in Boston (where people were hit, fatal and non-fatal) at least 136 since the Boston Marathon.
This marks the 4th gun murder and 36th shooting since the Blackstonian and participants in the ‘Rally For Solutions’ held at city hall presented suggestions and demanded a community meeting with the Mayor and Police Commissioner to address public concerns about policing and public safety. There have been no response from the Mayors office to at least 5 phone calls and numerous emails, tweets and other correspondence.

Unfortunately it is just going to get worse. Everyone has just given up and resigned themselves to life as it is. Only the schools and public health can save the neighborhoods. Courts and public housing developments are a cancer in the community section 8 was a way for families to move into communities that could afford to educate and provide a wholesome environment for kids. All we have now is a bunch of greedy non profit development corporations squeezing families into areas where the children’s needs can not be met and where life is pretty freaking abysmal. I know you will hate me for this but look at the map of crimes committed and where the heavy concentration of subsidized housing is…. Parents are being trapped. Kids are fighting over blocks because they don’t know what a big wide world we live in!!! Sorry just being real I grew up in Mission Hill in the 70s so I know the trap
