Cops reel in ‘Gone’ star in Quincy home break-in

The South Boston native who was tapped by Ben Affleck to bring some local color to the silver screen in “Gone Baby Gone” now has to convince a judge she’s no bad actor, after Quincy cops investigating a burglary decided the story she told them sounded like a bad movie.
Jill Quigg, 35, won critical acclaim for her gritty performance alongside Oscar nominee Amy Ryan as Helene McCready’s best friend Dottie in Affleck’s 2007 Boston-based movie. But in real life Friday, Quincy cops gave her two thumbs down, charging her with breaking into a Quincy apartment and stealing a 32-inch television and computer printer.
Cops said they became suspicious of the story Quigg and her alleged accomplice, Georgios Keskinidis, 28, told them about an unidentified black man they said they saw breaking into the South Street apartment, and running off with a TV and a printer,They also told police they had the stolen goods, but claimed they picked them up from the burglar said Quincy police Lt. Jack Sullivan.Quigg and Keskinidis told cops they saw the man run from the crime scene with a 32-inch television and a computer printer, Sullivan said. Quigg also told cops the break-in was “drug-related,” but could not explain how she knew that, Sullivan said. The pair said they chased the man, who dropped the stolen goods during the pursuit and then jumped into a car and drove off, he said. They claimed they then took the items to Quigg’s apartment across the street for safe keeping.
“That’s when we started to get suspicious,” Sullivan said. He said the victim identified them as the suspects. He added that cops knew Quigg from her “Gone Baby Gone” performance — which critics called “remarkable.” Quigg and Keskinidis couldn’t be reached for comment yesterday.
Both were charged with larceny over $250, breaking and entering in the daytime and malicious destruction of property for damage inflicted on the apartment door, Sullivan said.
