Mattapan massacre suspect lashes out in court

One of the three men indicted in connection with the shooting deaths of four people in Mattapan last fall had to be restrained by court officers today as he pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder.

“They’re (expletive) lying!” Dwayne Moore shouted at his Suffolk Superior Court arraignment. “I didn’t (expletive) do this (expletive)!”

Moore, 33, shifted his weight from one foot to the other, again and again, as Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Edmond Zabin described in chilling detail how Moore and two other men allegedly went to a Mattapan home on Sept. 28 to steal money and drugs, ordered Eyanna Flonory, 21, of Dorchester; her 2-year-old son, Amanihotep Smith; Simba Martin, 21, of Dorchester; and LeVaughn Washum-Garrison, 22, of Roslindale to strip, and then marched them up Woolson Street, where the defendants fatally shot each of them.

A 32-year-old Dorchester man was also shot in the head and paralyzed, Zabin said.

Moore and two other defendants — Edward Washington, 31, and Kimani Washington, 35, both of Dorchester — were each indicted Friday in connection with the shootings.
