(MBM) Community Catalyst New Job Positngs
Please help us get the word out about Community Catalysts new job postings by sharing this email with your friends, colleagues and networks.
Join an organization at the forefront of health care advocacy around the nation.
Community Catalyst is a national not-for-profit consumer advocacy organization working to build a health justice movement. Based in Boston MA, the organization develops new approaches to strengthen the voices of consumers and communities, organize vulnerable constituencies, and build the kinds of organizations and coalitions that can advocate effectively for health care reforms. Community Catalyst staff members work with consumer and community groups in more than 30 states that are advocating for – and winning – health policy and system reforms which benefit consumers. Additional information about Community Catalyst can be found atwww.communitycatalyst.org
We are currently recruiting for a Communications Manager and a Field Coordinator to work out of our Boston office. The ideal candidates will be self-starters with a combination of analytical and communication skills and most importantly, committed to making a difference.
Communications Manager:
We seek a Communications Manager to support Community Catalyst’s public information and communication strategies by overseeing systems that promote the organization’s visibility and enhance public understanding of Community Catalyst and its health work, and playing a key role in “translating” complex health policy issues for broad audiences. This person will be supervised by the Director of Communications.
Field Coordinator:
The Field Coordinator will provide and coordinate a wide range of policy-based technical assistance to state and local consumer organizations. These services include policy analysis, campaign strategy assistance, and assistance in designing targeted community organizing efforts, training, coalition-building fundraising and media assistance.
Community Catalyst staff members are well-known experts in health policy, organizational development, community organizing, law, communications, and strategic planning. They provide advice, information, and tools that help communities, consumer groups, providers, foundations, and progressive policymakers work together to lead health systems change. We offer competitive salaries, generous paid time off, a robust benefits package and the opportunity to work with our partner organizations who join with us in the work of health care advocacy.

Position:
Health Leads seeks a passionate and skilled professional to join an exceptional program team in PROVIDENCE, RI. The Program Manager plays a key leadership role in integrating Health Leads into clinical services, working alongside health care providers to develop efficient systems for resource connection, managing and coaching a talented corps of undergraduate volunteers, using data to enhance volunteer performance, and insuring the quality of services to clients.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, relationship manager, and coach, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Health Leads is a national non-profit with the goal that one day all doctors will be able to prescribe solutions that improve health, not just manage disease. The diagnosis and treatment of non-medical but health-critical conditions should be a standard part of patient care.
With Health Leads, a doctor can prescribe food, housing, or other critical resources just as they would medication. Patients take their prescriptions to the clinic waiting room, where Health Leads college volunteers are ready to connect them to these resources. Last year, Health Leads trained and deployed 660 college volunteers to connect nearly 6,000 low-income patients and their families in six cities to the resources they need to be healthy. Health Leads works in 22 pediatric and prenatal clinics, newborn nurseries, emergency rooms, and community health centers in six cities across the U.S.
Health Leads thus has a two-fold impact: First, the Health Leads programs expand clinics capacity to secure those non-medical resources necessary for their patients to be healthy. Second, Health Leads is producing a pipeline of new leaders who will have both the conviction and the ability to revolutionize health care.
Over the next four years, Health Leads will make substantial investments in its program model to achieve greater impact on patients and volunteers and further its vision for health care systems change. To learn more about Health Leads and our impact, please visit www.healthleadsusa.org.

To achieve our goal of all students having access to excellent teachers, we are committed to providing Rhode Islands students with a new generation of educators who have the potential to be highly effective and will work hard to ensure the academic success of each of their students. We are seeking passionate and accomplished individuals from all professional and academic backgrounds who are interested in teaching high school math, high school science, or special education in Rhode Islands most challenging and traditionally underserved schools and communities.

Even more unacceptable, less than two thirds of students graduated on time from high school in Rhode Islands urban core school districts. Are you ready to become part of the solution and be on the front lines of addressing education injustice?
Join us in making a positive impact on students grades and lives: become a Rhode Island Teaching Fellow.
