Mount Ida College invites applications for the part-time position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach beginning August, 2012. Mount Ida College is a NCAA Division III member and a member of the ECAC and Great Northeast Athletic Conference. This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills, and a commitment to the academic mission of the College and the philosophy of NCAA Division III athletics. A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s preferred) with prior coaching and recruiting experience at the college level preferred. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will:
Oversee the development of the women’s basketball program.
Be responsible for practice and game preparation.
Monitor student-athlete academic progress and retention.
Provide team management and leadership.
Evaluate and recruit both academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
Teach and produce good student-athletes in the sport of basketball.
Promote a positive public image and represent the college well.
Work with the Equipment Manager and Athletic Director on the purchasing of equipment and uniforms.
Assist the Sports Information Director with statistics and press releases related to basketball.
Comply with all NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
Communicate effectively with team members.
In addition to the coaching stipend, a Coach in Residence position that includes full room and board on campus may be available for a qualified candidate.
