Working within a student development framework, the professionals in the Student Affairs division at Lasell College strive to create an environment wherein students’ learning is supported and their individual growth is enhanced. The Counseling Center currently has an opening for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Health Educator/Clinical Counselor. The position is currently available.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Center, specific responsibilities include: the coordination of the College’s alcohol education program, including the facilitation of AlcoholEdu; coordination of the Peer Health Education program (including recruitment, selection, training and supervision); devising and presenting programs on various health-related topics, often in conjunction with colleagues throughout the College; and a limited clinical counseling case load (as determined by the Director of Counseling). It is anticipated that this individual will collaborate extensively with the staff in the Health Services Office, the Athletics Department, and the Office of Residential Life.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, higher education, or public health is required, as well as a minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience in developing and delivering health education and programming (with a special focus on alcohol education). Candidates must hold current professional licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or be license-eligible. Preferred candidates will have professional experience in a college or university setting; and will demonstrate a sound knowledge base in student development, adolescent and young adult development.
