CASTING CALL: AN INDIFFERENT SHORELINE

Working Title: An Indifferent Shoreline (20 Minute Short)

Shooting: October 13th – November 10th (1 day each Weekend)

Compensation: Food, Transportation to and from set, copy of film.

Synopsis: Three working-class Boston adolescents, unable to have gone to college, pick-pocket the many students in their home-town. When one of them, Bobby, gets arrested, they must figure out how to bail him out in a situation with very few choices. Chuck, in denial, ultimately becomes overwhelmed by the situation and loses control. Hartley, grappling more with himself, shuns his choices and sets on an ambiguous path with no promise of ease, but an allure of freedom.

Character Breakdown:

Chuck- Male, 18-24, A pickpocketing lion with rage; tragically in denial. Close to his friends but more loyal to his own moral code. (5 Days of Shooting)

Bobby- Male, 20-26, soft-spoken and sympathetic; yet worn out and oddly at peace with his negative circumstances. (2 Days of Shooting)

Party Goer- Male, 18-24, college student, tall, well kempt, assertive in his authority.(1 Day of Shooting)

Ethan- Male, 18-24, college student, high class, desire to flex his physical power and wealth. (1 Day of Shooting)

Mela- Female, 18-24, college student, fragile, naive and idealistic,.Warm and positive but too dependent on others. (1 Day of Shooting)

Bill- Male, 30-50, Large, intimidating, streetwise. Close and familiar with the teens in his neighborhood but unwilling to help. (1-2 Days of Shooting)

University Cop- Male, 28-45, Comfortable in his authority. Unfair in his judgement. (1 Day of Shooting)

Daniel- 7-12, fragile, embodies innocence, playful. (Less than 1 Day of Shooting no dialogue)

This project has an AFTRA/SAG waiver — Union members may submit for work on this project!

Any interested / available actor who fits one of the roles above is encouraged to submit their headshot/resume.
