BSA Intern
The Boston Scholar Athletes program (BSA) is an initiative of Suffolk Construction’s John Fish. The mission is to support academic achievement through athletics in Boston Public High Schools. The BSA partners with all 19 Boston Public High Schools to provide all current and potential scholar-athletes free access to academic resources in school-based learning centers, called “Zones”. The BSA is recruiting motivated, detail oriented, and innovative individuals to assist at BSA Headquarters.
Reports To: Program Director(s)
Location: BSA Headquarters (Suffolk Construction: 65 Allerton Street, Boston, MA 02119)
Status: Full time (32-40 hours/week)
Unpaid (Work Study Eligible)
Responsibilities:
– Provide team support to BSA Academics
– Collaborate with BSA Team
– Communicate with BSA school based staff, and provide administrative office support
– Assist with planning and execution of events
Qualifications
BSA is recruiting professionals with a passion for and dedication to helping scholar-athletes achieve success. Previous experience as a scholar-athlete encouraged.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
