Success Academy Charter Schools is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates 14 public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City. Over the next decade, our network will grow to 40 schools that provide a phenomenal K-8 public education to NYC school children. Our dual mission is to:
1. Offer children in New York City an exceptional public education that prepares them to succeed in college and life.
2. Forever alter the educational prospects for all public school children by creating a “tipping point” – moving a nation where educational failure is the norm to a nation that expects high-quality public school options for all children.

Success Academy Charter Schools is looking for a Sports Manager to design, implement, and run our after-school sports program across our network of schools.
Department Overview
As a member of the Learning Team, the Sports Manager will take the lead on our after-school sports program, working closely with our Athletic Coaches across our network of schools. Our after-school sports program drives further the goal of Success Academies, in building the community of the school, bringing together scholars, parents, and other folks within the school community.
Responsibilities include:
After-school sports program: In collaboration with our learning team and specials teachers, support in the development and implementation our after-school sports program to roll out across our network of schools
Sports Curriculum: Play a key role in designing sports curriculum for our Athletic Coaches
Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree and a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of previous work experience, including sports, program coordination or training experience.
A candidate must exemplify proficiency in the following areas:
•Organization. Highly organized and able to manage sophisticated events, able to independently manage projects and deadlines.
•Project Management. Able to plan and fully execute against a strategy. Exceptional follow-through and adherence to deadlines. Able to prioritize among multiple tasks and goals.
•Problem-solving. Approaches challenges in creative ways and finds thoughtful solutions.
•Oral and written communication. Comfort with public speaking, addressing a variety of audiences with a knowledgeable and friendly demeanor. Audiences include school staff, parents, scholars and partner organizations.
In addition, the following characteristics are required to be successful on this team:
•Attention to detail. Thinks critically about the details of a task at hand.
•Flexibility. Ability to adjust expected tasks and schedule to the updated priorities.
•Beyond Z attitude. Willingness to go above and beyond the job requirements to be innovative and support the organization.
•Dedication to mission. A genuine interest in finding ways to improve public education and support our schools.
•Collaboration. Strong team orientation and responsive to feedback.
