2 Double Shootings Blocks Apart Bring Total to 48 Shootings Since Boston Marathon; 17th Homicide of 2013

Two Double Shootings approximately 10 hours and several blocks apart in Roxbury brought the total to 48 shootings in Boston since the Boston marathon and marked the city’s 17th homicide of 2013. A double shooting on Humboldt Ave. left 2 male victims being treated at BMC at 5:40 AM. At 3:20 PM the second double shooting took place at the gas station in Egleston Square at the intersection of  Columbus Ave. and Washington St. leaving 1 male with non-life threatening injuries and 1 female dead.

3:20 PM – 2 Shot, 1 dead @ Washington St. and Columbus Ave. Egleston Square Gas Station

5/29 12:09am 1 24 Leroy St. Dorchester – 1 Man suffered a non-life threatening gun shot wound to the torso outside near address. No suspect was apprehended in the incident.
5/30 8:00pm 1 1420 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester,  MA  – 1 Male suffered a gun shot wound to the leg and torso outside near Tedeschi. No suspected was apprehended in the incident.
6/1 5:43am 2 5:43 AM – 2 shot at 249 Humboldt Ave. – Both Victims Arrived at BMC at 5:40

    I am so sad that this is part of the everyday life for Our Children living in Roxbury and parts of Dorchester. This is a world class city in other parts of Boston. We need action now!

    What this doesn’t show is if this is an inordinately high number of shootings for Boston in the given time frame…also missing here is an assertion as to why this is happening. Is the government eliminating witnesses? if so, why not say it. Not trying to be a smart-ass, but just merely showing a list of names isn’t very helpful.
