PROJECT: “Faith, Families, and Freedom”
An inter-faith campaign consisting of several 60-second public service announcements.
MESSAGE: “Come to church: Whatever church you choose. Just come!”
SEEKING: Young Adults, age 17-27, who are actively practicing adherents of any religion.
WHAT IS IT? These are INTERVIEWS. There’s no acting involved. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ACTORS, BUT REAL PEOPLE WHO ARE SINCERELY ACTIVE IN THEIR RELIGION. We are seeking young adults from a variety of religious beliefs. We will be highlighting the opinions of these young adults about how devotion to their faith has affected their lives. Applicants should feel comfortable speaking their mind in front of a camera and be willing to share their thoughts through this venue.
We DO NOT want head shots or resumes – We DO NOT want to know about your “acting” experience.
REMUNERATION if chosen: This project is PAID: $300/day
WHERE: The shoot will take place somewhere in Boston or Cambridge, MA
WHEN: One day only. Shoot dates are currently set for ONE DAY BETWEEN JULY 10 – 15TH
Applications must be submitted by midnight, WEDNESDAY JUNE 19TH.
TO APPLY:
1) Auditions will take place at the LDS Weston Church Building, 150 Brown Street, Weston, MA on Wednesday June 19th, 2013 – between 7pm & 9pm. We will take your picture and film you for 1 to 2 minutes telling us about your faith. This will only take about 15 minutes of your time.
OR
2) Submit your own video using the process below:
FIRST, make a video of yourself! Take one minute or less to introduce yourself and tell us how practicing your religion has affected your life. This is what we’re looking for:
(1) “Talking Head.” Make sure your FACE is well-lit. It only needs to be your head-and-shoulders speaking directly to the camera.
(2) Your Name. Please state your name at the beginning and where you live this is vital …then anything about yourself you’d like to share. ( how many in your family; your age; etc.)
(3) Be personable. Relax. Smile. Show some humor.
(4) Be sincere. Speak the truth from your heart about how you are religious and how your religion has helped you in your life, maybe over come a trial or just how it gives you direction in day to day life.
(5) Be succinct. Convey your ideas clearly and concisely. You may wish to practice a bit before recording. Remember, longer is not always better. Short and succinct is the way to be.
SECOND, upload your video! You may use any online service you prefer (i.e. you tube). We recommend that you make the video “accessible via URL link” which creates a degree of privacy without the need for a password. In effect, only those with the direct link can see the video. Add the link to your video to your FORM (see step #3) and viola! Done!
THIRD, fill out this FORM and upload a current photo of yourself. There are areas in the form to do this.
The FORM is accessible here if the links above not work for you:
