Update to the 4th of July Shootings:
In addition to the male shot in the chest across the street from the Mattapan B2 Police District, there were 4 other shooting incidents around the city.
At 12:57 AM, one male suffered a non life threatening gunshot wound to the buttocks and leg at 10 Lattimore Ct, SE The suspects took off in an unknown direction and have not been apprehended. At 2:17 am at the corner of Brinsely St and Geneva Ave. one man was shot outside on the street nearby his home. 13 minutes later a female was brought into Boston Medical Center for a gunshot wound which she stated occurred at the same location in Dorchester. At 5:31am at 19 Leroy St, Dorchester, a call came in for a male shot outside near the address who suffered a non-life threatening wound to the leg. No suspects were apprehended. This marked 4 shootings before 6 AM.
The next shooting of July 4th was the Morton St. BLue Hill Ave Shooting at 8:24 pm. The final shooting of the day rang out at 11:53 pm at 44 Everton St. in Dorchester where one male was shot in the leg. Suspects took off prior to police arrival. This makes total of 6 shootings in one day.
This brings the total number of shootings in Boston to 81 since the 2013 Boston Marathon.
