“I am more than pleased to support this tribute to Min. Rodney Muhammad. I have known Min. Rodney since the 80′s and he has been a strong and consistent worker on behalf of our people and community. Min. Rodney has stood on the front lines for decades speaking truth to power and I have had the good fortune to be shoulder to shoulder with him organizing and speaking out in support of many righteous causes, from the tragic deaths of Trina Persad and Mark McMullen, the BPD’s brutalization of a young man at RCC, to policy issues like 3 Strikes and Safe Homes. This event is made even more special as it is organized by another longtime friend Pastor Demetric Cooper and it is exactly these type of heartfelt acknowledgements of each other as a sign of respect and appreciation that reaffirms our community’s sense of love and unity. I will be there with friends and family to honor our beloved brother, Min. Rodney Muhammad.”
