According to BPD News “At about 11:36 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2014, Officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 196 Itasca Street in Mattapan. On arrival, officers located a male victim, possibly in his twenties, outside of the location with apparent gunshots wounds. The victim was pronounced on scene.” Universal Hub ads Brian D’Amico reports the victim was shot in the head and that friends have identified the victim as Kenneth “Lil Kenny” Rowell, 25, of Dorchester:
Friends are identifying the man shot to death on Itasca Street on Thursday as Kenneth "Lil Kenny" Rowell, 25, of Dorchester.
Rowell started rapping when he was barely old enough for first grade. In 1999, New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe founder Michael Bivins picked Rowell as a member of a group of pre-14 rappers originally called Magnificent 7, then the Biv 10 Pee Wee All-Stars.
The group, consisting of boys from across the country went on a national tour, appeared on MTV and BET, and came out with one album

According to BPD “At about 12:42am, on Sunday, February 23, 2014, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to an outside scene for shots fired in the area of 126 Boston Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering from life threatening injuries, was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.” Universal Hub ads friends have identified him as Daniel Taylor.
