John Barros named Chief of Economic Development
Mayor Marty Walsh tapped John Barros to be the City of Boston’s first ever Chief of Economic Development. The new cabinet level position will have Barros overseeing several departments under the umbrella of economic development.
Barros will oversee the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the Boston Employment Commission, the Boston Residents Jobs Policy, the Small and Local Business Enterprise Office, jobs/community service, special events, consumer affairs and licensing, as well as tourism.
