“Historical Perspective: In December 1975, the Boston NAACP’s Branch Office on Massachusetts Avenue was fire-bombed, allegedly by anti-busing foes. The Branch President was Hansford Brown, and that following year the Branch received the National NAACP’s Thalheimer Award for its outstanding work during the year.
