SHORT FILM CASTING
Working Title: “Closure”
Director: Bob Giordani
Shooting: 3 Days in Late February/Early March
Compensation: $75 per Day, Meals, Travel Reimbursement, Copy, Credit, Etc.
Have completed SAG student film agreement.
Union and Non-Union actors are both welcome to audition.
Synopsis:
John and Carolyn, a married couple, are still coming to terms with the murder of their young daughter. Carolyn develops an interest in Paula, a world famous author and psychic medium. She begins to read her books and entertains the idea of talking to her daughter’s spirit through the mediation of a psychic. John finds out about her interest and makes his skepticism and disapproval known.
At the event John stumbles upon the truth that Paula is a fraud. He is faced with a decision. Does he tell Carolyn about the fraud and ruin it for her or does he keep his knowledge of the fraud to himself and
allow Carolyn to find the closure that she desperately needs.
Character Breakdowns:
John – Male, age range: 35 – 50, a hard working blue-collar father and husband, still grieving over his daughter’s death.
Carolyn – Female, age range: 35 – 50, a housewife and dedicated mother who thinks she might be able to communicate with the spirit of her daughter.
Paula – Female, age range: 40-70, a rising celebrity psychic and author with a following. She helps
people all over the country communicate with their loved ones from beyond.
