Basketball Non Profit Giving Away $25,000 Grant to Fund International 10-month Program
Enabling Graduates to Give Back
BOSTON – (NOVEMBER 15) The Shooting Touch Sabbatical Program – Referred to as “The Basketball Peace Corps”, opened its application period today, giving graduating college seniors the opportunity to partake in a ten month international work program using the platform of basketball to help foster education and influence positive social change in third world communities.
Applicants from colleges and universities of all levels are welcome to apply. Working within the parameters of the program, each student application includes a detailed mission statement and an outline of the goals each applicant would like to accomplish throughout the 10-months. Upon acceptance, all grantees will be awarded a stipend of $25,000 to fund their experience. Interested American students, graduating in December of 2012 or Spring of 2013, should contact Shooting Touch, Inc. to download an application for the program.

Past Grantees have traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Cape Verde and Brazil. The program recently made the commitment to work in Rwanda for the next 3-5 years maximizing impact and creating a sustainable effective program for the youths of Rwanda. All Grantees for the 2013-2014 Sabbatical will be going to Rwanda.
