VerBaLizAtiOn is going on every second & fourth Wednesday. We’re bringing back
our free film-screening series called “AFRO-CINEMA” on June 12th and another featured artist
TBA will be performing on June 26th, both nights in celebrating Black Music Month.

ROXBURY PRIDE/JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION
In 1997, a group of Roxbury residents and friends formed the Roxbury HomeComing
Committee to establish an annual, large-scale family reunion event in their neighborhood
that honored their shared roots and celebrated the historic “Juneteenh Day”. The resulting
Roxbury Pride/Juneteenth Celebration has sice drawn thousands of families and tens of
thousands of people each June to Franklin Park. The mission of the event is to bring Roxbury
natives, who now reside all over the world, home for the weekend; unite African-American
families across generations; commemorate our ancestors; take pride in our culturally rich
community; and celebrate a significant moment in our history from slavery to freedom.
