Confederate Flag vs. American Flag; What’s The Difference?!?

Recent events have put the Confederate Flag in the spotlight with many calling for its removal.
I ask the question what is the difference between the Confederate Flag and the American Flag?
The Confederate Flag had about a 4 yr run and awful things were done under that banner. However, do not let blind patriotism allow you to view the US Flag as somehow innocent and noble. Without Question the US Flag has more atrocities and blood on it than the Conderacy could have ever hoped to produce.
Here are just a few examples, in no particular order. Obviously I didn’t/couldn’t list everything (like every war that happened) but here is a good basis for discussion. Feel free to chime in in the comment section.

First of all,Dee,there is no reason to insult either flag. It is people that have made them something they were not intended to be. Both flags are deep heritage of the United States and just because they were both around in bad times does not make them what you call rags. The governor of South Carolina should have been asked to resign when she played with peoples heritage by removing the Confederate flag. This country, because of political correctness is turning into a hate thy neighbor country and will soon end up with a mass rebellion all because of people who think we should get rid of everything they do not like but, know very little about..Regards!
