Solidaridad Benefit for Puerto Rico

[Via Distillery Boston]   Solidaridad Benefit for Puerto Rico, We Can Make A Difference! Please join us in Solidaridad with Puerto Rico, Thursday November 9, 5-9 PM.  We are hosting a Solidaridad Art Auction to benefit and support relief efforts in light of the current Puerto Rican humanitarian crisis and disaster. Funds raised will go to grassroots organizations and the transportation of direct delivery relief and more. Over 30 artists are generously donating original art for the auction. During the auction Radio Wolftown will be spinning a live DJ set and Lady Enchantress will be performing followed by a report back on the relief efforts in Puerto Rico by AgitArte. Participation in this event will help support lifesaving initiatives and humanitarian relief efforts. Art enthusiasts and supporters bid for the chance to own a piece of original art for a good cause. The Solidaridad Art Auction Benefit will be followed by an after-party at B3 Restaurant & Bar with DJ Take Flyte spinning hip hop, house, latin & soul from 10 PM-12:30 AM. B3 will provide stationed bites for attendees and 100% of Collective Arts Brewing beer sales will go to PR relief. Artwork by Puerto Ricans will go directly to their families in Puerto Rico.

Bell Biv Devoe (BBD) Free Unity Concert @City Hall Plaza – Sept. 9

Bell Biv DeVoe will perform at a free unity concert on Boston’s City Hall Plaza Saturday and people are being asked to donate school supplies for students in Houston after Harvey caused widespread flooding and devastation in the area. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Senator Linda Dorcena Forry made the announcement Sunday. Bell Biv DeVoe, a hometown musical group, is part of the free concert, which begins at 7 p.m. on Sept. 9. Anyone attending the concert is asked to bring new school materials to help the families and children in Houston. The donations can be made at City Hall Plaza.

He has appeared in several films, including Armageddon, Undercover Brother, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, and starred on the television series Malcolm & Eddie. “No Human Being is Illegal” Group Show reflecting on Borders, Migration,Criminilaztion of Human Life and the Strength of Community This is an open call for entries of visual, multimedia and other work for display in a group show at Haymarket People’s Fund as part of Jamaica Plain Open Studios 2017.
